Tom is one of the founding Shareholders of Hill Ward Henderson. He received his B.A. degree (cum laude) from Vanderbilt University in 1965 and earned his LL.B. degree in 1968 from the University of Virginia School of Law.
Tom is the Vice-Chairman of the firm and practices in the firm's Real Estate Group. Tom's area of practice includes all facets of real property law with special emphasis on land acquisition and development, commercial property sales transactions, finance and title insurance matters. He regularly represents borrowers in loan originations, loan renewals and problem loan workouts.
Tom is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, The Florida Bar and the American Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in all Florida courts, the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, and the United States Supreme Court. In addition to serving on the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, Tom also serves and has served on the boards or executive committees of numerous national and statewide law committees and councils. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America.
Tom is an active member of many of Tampa's civic, charitable and social organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Hillsborough County Easter Seal Society, the Tampa Chamber of Commerce, the United Way and the University of Tampa Board of Counselors and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Downtown Partnership and on the Advising Board of the Tampa Committee of 100. Tom is also an active member of the Hyde Park United Methodist Church.
