Lara is a Shareholder in the firm’s Litigation Group. Her practice involves complex commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. She has a broad range of experience in litigation matters, including contract and real estate litigation; intellectual property litigation; products liability; and legal malpractice defense.
Lara served as Law Clerk for The Honorable James S. Moody, Jr., United States District Court Judge for the Middle District of Florida from 2000-2001. She routinely serves as local counsel for out-of-state clients and law firms.
Lara is active in Bar activities on both the local and state level. Lara is a member of the Board of Directors for the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Within the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Lara has served in numerous capacities, including as Program Chair, and as a member of the Liberty Bell Committee and the Outstanding Lawyer Committee. Lara is also Past President of the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division.
Lara has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation since 2001. Within the Foundation, Lara has served on the Chester Ferguson Building Operations Committee and the Law and Liberty Dinner Committee.
Lara was a member of The Florida Bar Young Lawyer's Division Board of Governors from 2000-2005, and is still active in assisting the Board with its meetings and projects. She also previously served as Vice-Chair of The Florida Bar's Student Education and Admission to the Bar Committee. In 2002, Lara served on the Middle District of Florida's Merit Selection Panel to consider reappointment of magistrate judges.
Lara is a member of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
