Dennis is a Shareholder in the firm, the practice leader of the firm's Litigation Group, and a member of the firm's Management Committee. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation in state and federal trial courts. He has represented clients in a wide variety of commercial disputes, including claims involving securities fraud, breach of contract, class actions, corporate and partnership disputes, dissenters’ rights, trade secrets, common law fraud, and commercial torts. In 2006, he completed a seven week jury trial in which he successfully defended Honeywell International in a civil fraud dispute arising from the sale of a business unit. In 2004, he completed a two week jury trial in which he successfully defended WebMD in a trade secret and civil fraud dispute.
Dennis devotes a significant portion of his practice to the defense of professional malpractice actions. He has defended law firms from Florida, California, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., Ohio, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Rhode Island. He also has defended claims against one of the major international accounting firms. Dennis serves as a member of the ABA’s Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability.
Dennis practices in the appellate area as well, and has handled appeals before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Florida Supreme Court, and Florida's District Courts of Appeal.
Dennis is active in both professional and Bar related activities, as well as in the Tampa Bay community. He is on the Catholic Charities Board of Trustees for the Diocese of St. Petersburg, and is a director of the Parkland Estates Civic Association. Dennis enjoys sports, running, and reading.
