Andrew Barrineau

Andrew Barrineau is an associate in the firm's Commercial Litigation Group and Crisis Management team. His practice focuses on business disputes, breach of contract claims, and the enforcement and defense of noncompete and restrictive covenant agreements.

Prior to law school, Andrew served over a decade in the United States military. He began his career as a Logistics Specialist in the United States Marine Corps Reserve before commissioning as an Intelligence Officer on active duty in the United States Navy. His naval service culminated in his role as deputy director of intelligence for a joint task force under United States Special Operations Command, where he was responsible for conducting, planning, and providing support for intelligence and special operations across a global portfolio.

Andrew earned his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law, where he was a member of the Trial Team. He competed in the Martin Luther King Jr. National Civil Rights Trial Competition in consecutive years, where FSU won the national competition, and Andrew was named Overall Best Advocate and received awards for Best Cross Examination and Best Closing Argument. He received book awards in Criminal Law and Legislative Externship Perspectives. He was also a research assistant for Professor Jacob Eisler, and a teaching assistant for the Corporate Compliance and Third-Party & Vendor Risk Management courses in FSU Law’s Juris Master's program.

During law school, Andrew was selected as a Florida Legislative Fellow in the Class of 2024-25 and served as a legal analyst on the House Rules & Ethics Committee, where his work included ethics investigations and consultation on security matters related to the establishment of the Security & Threat Assessment Committee. He also served as President of the Student Veterans Legal Symposium and as Chief Justice of the Student Body Supreme Court.

Andrew was selected by the FSU Law Alumni Association Board of Directors as the recipient of the 2025 Mores Medal, which recognizes a student who exemplifies good citizenship of the College of Law through collegiality, integrity, and service. He was named a Presidential appointee to the FSU College of Law Alumni Board.

Andrew grew up on a family cattle farm in rural North Florida and South Alabama. Outside of the office, he enjoys horseback riding, paddle boarding, live music, and Tampa's cigar culture. He has been playing the violin since 1999.
