Hill Ward Henderson Shareholder Appointed To Serve On Newly Created Tampa Police Citizens Review Board

Robert A. Shimberg, a Shareholder in Hill Ward Henderson’s Litigation Group, was recently appointed by Tampa’s Mayor Bob Buckhorn to the Tampa Police Citizens Review Board. The 11-member Citizens Review Board, including nine voting members and two alternates, will review cases involving use of force and other cases that resulted in internal investigations, as well as issues of importance to the community at the Tampa Police Department. The Board will serve four-year terms and will work together to hold both the Tampa Police Department and the citizens of the City of Tampa accountable. The men and women on the board represent a vast cross-section of Tampa’s most trusted and upstanding residents with diverse background and unique life experiences. 

Mr. Shimberg’s primary practice areas include commercial litigation, corporate compliance, governmental relations and criminal defense. He was formerly a prosecutor with the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. Active in many community concerns, Mr. Shimberg serves as chair of the Board of Metropolitan Ministries, the area’s most comprehensive program providing self-sufficiency training to the homeless and those at risk of homelessness in the Tampa Community.
