Overview

Jaime Maier brings a high level of organization to keep complex projects on track.

Jaime works on a wide range of land use matters, including residential subdivisions, multi-family and mixed-use developments, historic preservation sites, wireless communication towers, and alcoholic beverage zoning. She serves clients throughout the greater Tampa Bay Area.

Jaime graduated in the top ten percent of her class at UCLA School of Law, and was elected for membership in the Order of the Coif. She was a six-time recipient of the Masin Family Academic Excellence Gold Award, which is awarded to students who achieve the highest grade in a competitive law school class.

Outside the office, she enjoys doing CrossFit, spending time on the water, and appreciating the beauty of Florida.

Experience

  • Successfully appealed a case before the Hillsborough County Land Use Hearing Officer, overturning County Staff’s denial of our client’s request for nonconforming use determination for their junkyard operation.
  • Successfully appealed a denial of a variance by the Architectural Review Commission, to allow our client to improve her home in the Hyde Park Historic District; Tampa City Council unanimously overturned the ARC decision and granted the variance.
  • Prepared significant application record and oral arguments for a contested variance for a commercial dock permit in Pinellas County; we received approval of a variance for our client over substantial opposition and a difficult variance standard.
  • Prepared an appeal and oral arguments to the City of Clearwater Community Development Board to overturn City Staff’s denial of our client’s application for a pool in their front corner yard; we won the appeal, despite the difficult legal burden we had to overcome.
