Thomas is an associate in the firm’s Litigation and Corporate and Tax groups. His practice offers a full range of intellectual property law, including obtaining and enforcing patent, copyright, and trademark rights, and handling related matters in unfair competition, e-commerce, licensing, due diligence, and IP transactions. Thomas also covers an array of general and complex commercial litigation matters in both federal and state courts. His practice includes experience defending steel companies in products liability actions, representing clients in a variety of business disputes and class action litigation, including defending publicly traded companies in securities class actions, and contract and corporate disputes, as well as claims for patent infringement, trademark infringement, and copyright infringement. Thomas earned his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law where he graduated cum laude and upon graduation received the National Order of Scribes Award in the area of legal writing. During law school, Thomas served as Senior Associate of the Stetson Law Review and competed as an advocate on Stetson’s Moot Court Board. Thomas served as a Federal Judicial Intern for the Honorable James S. Moody Jr., the Honorable Thomas B. McCoun, III, and the Honorable Michael G. Williamson in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and both as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant. During his time at Stetson, Thomas also received the William Blews Award for his pro bono contributions and served as a committee member of the Student Leadership Development Committee. Outside of the office, Thomas enjoys playing golf, fishing, following the Gators, Bucs, Lightning, and Rays, as well as spending time traveling with his wife, Ashlyn.
