Overview
Matthew Hall primarily focuses in complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes, management-side employment matters and federal court practice. The diversity of Matthew’s practice is reflected in the diversity of the clients he represents: from Fortune 100 companies and large insurance companies to small and up-and-coming businesses and individuals. Matthew has worked to obtain six-figure recoveries on behalf of his clients in breach of contract and insurance coverage actions and successfully defended other clients from multi-million dollar claims of negligence. With his experience as clerk with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, Matthew also assists the firm’s Appellate Practice Group with high-profile federal court appeals. He has also served as a guest lecturer on various topics at the University of Florida Levin College of Law and the University of Tampa.
Prior to attending law school, Matthew served as an infantryman in the U.S. Army, deploying to Iraq in 2003 with the 4th Infantry Division. Accordingly, Matthew knows the importance of service and continues to try to give back to the military veteran community and the community at large. He played instrumental roles in creating and leading the military and veterans affairs committees in Ybor City and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Matthew also created the first endowed scholarship for military veterans at University of Florida School of Law. He is also a life member of both the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and he is accredited to represent veterans’ benefits claims and assists veterans at no cost to secure their disability benefits.
Out of the office, Matthew enjoys spending time on the water, watching sports, and enjoying time with his two children. And, while not as fast as he used to be, Matthew still participates in a few distance races each year.
