Benjamin H. Hill, III Appointed To American College Of Trial Lawyers

Hill Ward Henderson founding Shareholder, Benjamin H. Hill, III, was recently appointed Vice Chair of the Legal Ethics and Professionalism Committee and member of the Federal Legislation Committee for the American College of Trial Lawyers. His term commences at the conclusion of the 2015 Annual Meeting on October 2nd in Chicago.

As Vice Chair of the Legal Ethics and Professionalism Committee, Mr. Hill and fellow Committee members will work to advance, improve, and promote the ethical standards and professionalism in the trial bar in all its aspects in both the United States and Canada. The Federal Legislation Committee monitors and reviews pending legislation in Congress that may affect the judiciary and trial practice in the federal courts, as well as the administration of justice. The Committee will then promptly inform the President of the College, the Executive Director, and the Chair of any General Committee having jurisdiction over the subject matter of that proposed legislation.

The American College of Trial Lawyers is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada and is widely considered to be the premier professional trial organization in America. Through its Board of Regents, its general committees and its state and province committees, the College engages in a wide variety of activities to further the improvement of trial practice, administration of justice and the ethics of the profession.

As a member of the firm’s Litigation Group, Mr. Hill’s practice is primarily focused on the areas of complex litigation including professional liability, products liability, and general commercial matters. Mr. Hill has represented many of the nation’s largest law firms and many public companies in litigation in Florida. He has tried numerous jury cases ranging from two days to over six months in trial. He has represented the Florida House of Representatives in a case involving the Florida Constitution and in an ethics case. He has represented the Florida Senate in a voting districting case and has served as special counsel to former Florida Governor, The Honorable Bob Graham. Mr. Hill is Board Certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer by The Florida Bar and certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by The National Board of Trial Advocacy.
