John C. Connery Jr., Shareholder and the practice Co-Chair of the firm’s Corporate & Tax Group, has been locally recognized for his impact in the community with The Bayshore Project.

John, along with three other fathers formed The Bayshore Project, a South Tampa-based running group open to all middle school aged students. Their efforts were put into action one year ago when the fathers saw an insufficiency of running programs in the community, which drove them to create a team of their own.

Connery and the other founders wanted to create a club for young runners that would foster a fun and competitive community for them. The group meets three days per week and run anywhere from two to six miles together to prepare for cross country races, and build friendships along the way. Many of the middle school members are training to participate in the 2018 Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic, to be held at the end of February.

Mr. Connery has a diverse transactional practice, with an emphasis on advising family offices, venture capital funds, companies, angel investors and private equity funds and their portfolio companies. He counsels on structuring and negotiating complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, growth capital investments, joint ventures, fund formations and recapitalizations.
