Hill Ward Henderson is proud to announce that E.D. "Ed" Armstrong was elected chair of Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board. Armstrong was appointed to the Governing Board in June 2014 and was reappointed in October 2020 and June 2022. His term expires March 1, 2026. Armstrong represents Pinellas County.
The Governing Board sets policy for the District, whose mission is to manage the water and related resources of west central Florida to meet the needs of current and future water users while protecting the environment.
Governing Board members are citizen volunteers who are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Florida Senate. A 13-member Governing Board establishes policies for the entire 16-county District. The Governing Board represents a wide cross section of interests, including agricultural, recreational, business, industrial, urban, rural and the public.
Armstrong is a shareholder in the firm’s Clearwater office. With more than three decades of experience, he has obtained approval for many of the most complex development projects in Pinellas County. He also represents several high-profile clients who have significant interactions with local governments. Armstrong regularly represents national and local developers, public and private, with interests in the Tampa Bay area. He often serves as local general counsel to these clients.
