Hill Ward Henderson is pleased to announce that Anisha P. Patel has been appointed to serve on the Florida Bar's Special Committee on Non-Voting Board Members. Patel was the only member selected from the Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division.

This special committee will review Florida Bar Standing Board Policy 1.20-Board Meetings (d) State, Voluntary or Local Bar Associations or Groups; and ensure diverse representation and inclusion in the Board’s deliberations from all groups of which the Florida Bar could benefit. The Committee is chaired by Florida Bar past president Eugene Pettis, and will be holding a town hall meeting in February 2020 to discuss work.

Patel is an associate in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group and represents individuals and firms in a variety of business-related disputes, including professional liability matters, insurance coverage disputes, and the defense of accessibility lawsuits concerning the Americans with Disabilities Act. She also has experience in representing a major tobacco company in smoking and health litigation.

Patel is actively involved in many local, statewide, and national bar associations. She serves as an elected governor on the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors, an ex-officio board member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, and a Vice Chair on the Professional Liability Insurance Committee of the American Bar Association Tort, Trial & Insurance Practice Section.
