Ethen R. Shapiro, a Shareholder in Hill Ward Henderson’s Litigation Group, was recently named the Program Chair for the 2014-2015 Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) Medical Liability and Health Care Annual Meeting and Seminar in San Francisco in March 2015. The Seminar offers two days of targeted instruction on emerging topics in the medical malpractice and health care law field. Aimed at defense attorneys, in-house counsel, claims professionals, and risk management personnel, this seminar is focused on cutting-edge topics presented by an accomplished faculty of attorneys, physicians, and claims professionals—all leaders in their respective fields.
DRI is the international membership organization for lawyers involved in the defense of civil litigation. DRI is committed to enhancing the skills, effectiveness and professionalism of defense lawyers; anticipating and addressing issues germane to defense lawyers and the civil justice system; promoting appreciation of the rolls of the defense lawyer and improving the civil justice system and preserving the civil jury.
Ethen's practice focus is in medical malpractice, hospital liability, defense of nursing home and long-term care facilities, professional liability, premises liability, and handling a diverse array of personal injury claims. Since joining Hill Ward Henderson, he has defended hospitals, physicians, nursing homes, and pharmaceutical companies at local, state and national levels.
