Chad E. Burgess - Associate

Chad is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation Group. His practice includes the defense of medical malpractice, hospital liability, products liability, and premises liability claims, along with a diverse array of personal injury cases.

During his time at Stetson University, Chad served as an Assistant Editor of The Stetson Law Review. In addition, he served as the Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board, competing in five competitions. During his first year he was awarded the Outstanding Oralist Award at the Phelps Dunbar First-Year Appellate Advocacy Competition. Other awards and accomplishments received throughout his Moot Court experiences include: 

  • 2011 Robert Orseck Memorial Moot Court Competition, First Place team and Best Brief awards 
  • 2012 National Professional Responsibility Moot Court Competition, First Place team, Best Brief award, and recipient of the Best Overall Oralist Award 
  • 2013 Andrews Kurth Moot Court National Championship, Best Brief award and Finalist

Prior to and during law school, Chad worked as a second-generation firefighter/paramedic and was an adjunct faculty member at St. Petersburg College. Outside of the office, Chad enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and son, playing hockey, and traveling.
