Overview

Tim Zehnder is responsive to clients’ needs and is able to communicate complex concepts in an easy to understand fashion to provide his clients with practical solutions to benefit plan issues.

Tim’s practice focuses primarily on advising employers (private and public, tax-exempt and for-profit) on a wide variety of benefits matters that arise throughout the lifespan of their benefits programs. This includes regularly counseling clients on plan design, administration and termination matters, compliance with applicable laws (including the Internal Revenue Code, ERISA, HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act), and resolution of compliance issues with the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.

Tim has experience assisting clients with matters relating to their health and welfare plans, qualified retirement plans, and non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements. He regularly prepares documentation for the administration of such plans, including plan documents and amendments, participant communications and responses, and compliance-related filings.

Prior to joining the firm, Tim practiced in the Chicago office of an Am Law 100 law firm, where he focused primarily on executive compensation and employee benefits matters. In his free time, Tim enjoys traveling, attending live music events and spending time with his wife and daughter.
